Project approval for Militos aiming to improve childhood education

EC approval of the European project “Nest” aiming to create a network of staff and teachers in childcare services

Education and training of staff working in childhood education is a major concern for the present and the future of ECEC. Quality of services includes above all the preparation of teachers, nurses, and childminders to the social, cognitive and emotional development of the child. At present, however, given the varied background of European countries, there are no common recommendations, or defined curricula at European level, and the national (or regional) situations seem being isolated from each other, having very little possibilities of sharing. For this reason, the network in the field of staff development in ECEC in Europe contributes to overcome the problem of isolation, by creating links between institutions, practitioners and professionals, and by collecting existent learning resources for early childhood educators. Moreover, it provides policy makers with updated information and comparisons of data in the field addressed.
